POSITION DESCRIPTION
Our Room Attendants ensure overall cleanliness, detail and care of hotel areas and guest rooms, maximizing the balance between Colleague, Guest and Owner satisfaction. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Clean rooms following our established safety standards to ensure personal safety and security at all times
• Organize, restore and restock guest rooms or other areas of the hotel according to established standards
• Partner with housemen, laundry attendants, housekeeping supervisors and management to ensure rooms are serviced in accordance with guest arrivals and queues
• Ensure proper compliance in the use of cleaning techniques and chemicals used for cleaning
• Restock and account for Minibar items in guest rooms during service
• Ensure guestroom welcome amenities are delivered and replenished when needed as per established policy
• Account for inventory items and supplies used, replenishing as required
• Report items which require maintenance for immediate and proactive resolution
• Report customer service issues or concerns to management in a prompt, proactive manner as appropriate
• Stock housekeeping carts to ensure supplies for the shift are accessible and available for the day
• This position may entail standard cleaning of guest rooms, or preparing rooms to turndown standards, depending on the shift
• Undertake any other ad hoc related responsibilities, as required
EDUCATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Position is physical in nature and requires regular lifting, bending, reaching, stretching, squatting
• Minimum 2 years previous work experience in a similar capacity is preferred
• Demonstrated understanding for luxury hotel standards of service
POSITION DESCRIPTION
• Reporting to the Director of Security and Safety, participate in all security and safety practices within the hotel in order to maximize the Colleague, Guest and Resident satisfaction. Job requirements include, but are not limited to the following:
• Perform tasks related to Safety & Security, crime prevention, and emergency response including first aid.
• Perform tasks related to: Security and Access Control, and Occupational Health and Safety and First Aid procedures.
• Conducts routine patrols during shifts covering all hotel, residential and commercial spaces of the property.
• Prepare reports at the end of each shift including log-book entries, general occurrence, fire alarm and medical reports.
• Responds to complaints from guests, residents, and tenants, as required and conducts necessary investigations
• Monitor and review CCTV, as required
• Ensure compliance to all provincial and federal legislation, hotel policies, standards and core practices, diligently assist with inventory controls and safety programs
• Adhere to Emergency Response procedures, including a fire prevention program to established legal requirements.
• Performs special investigations as required
• Maintains a close working relationship with all departments in the hotel.
• Maintains on-going communications with the Vancouver Police Department, RCMP VIP Section and any other security agencies and assists with special security arrangements for VIP visits when requested.
• Respond to accidents/incidents, providing First Aid responsibilities, as required
• Completes accident investigation paperwork, incident reports and first aid paperwork per WorkSafe BC requirements
• Responsible for access control to Shangri-La Vancouver
• Conduct regular checks, inspections and testing of security and safety devices around the property.
• Reporting and documenting of maintenance issues observed on patrols to ensure a timely rectification.
• Report elevator entrapments and technical issues to service company and follow up, as required
• Ensure compliance to all provincial and federal legislation, hotel policies, standards and security core practices
• Undertakes other ad-hoc responsibilities, as required
EDUCATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS
• Minimum 3 years previous work experience in a security or safety officer position in another hotel brand is required
• Requires active possession of BC Security Workers License
• Valid Level 2 or 3 Occupational First Aid License
• Knowledge of Criminal Code and municipal by-laws
• Typing/Basic Computer skills (MS Word, Outlook)
• Conflict resolution, De-Escalation skills and Decision-making abilities
